Cycling is not just a mode of transportation or a way to stay fit and healthy. For Lee and Helen, owners of @CyclePyrenees, cycling is a passion that has been a part of their lives for decades. From mountain biking to road cycling, cycling has always been a constant source of joy and adventure for them. Today, they share their love for cycling with others through their bed and breakfast in the beautiful Ariége region of Southwest France.
“Cycling has always been a constant source of joy and adventure…”
Lee and Helen's love for cycling started as a family mountain bike hobby to keep their two active sons fit and healthy. But it wasn't until their mid-40s that they took up road cycling. Lee completed The Tour of Mont Blanc, and Helen a triathlon to prove they could stay fit and healthy as the years ticked on. After retiring from stressful jobs in the UK, they decided to start a new life running a cycle-based bed and breakfast in the French countryside. Today, they continue to cycle and explore the beauty of the Pyrenees with their guests.

“It's a way to explore the world around them, challenge themselves, and make new friendships.”
For Lee and Helen, cycling is more than just a way to stay healthy. It's a way to explore the world around them, challenge themselves, and make new friendships. Cycling allows them to take in the breathtaking scenery of the Pyrenees and discover hidden gems that they would have never found otherwise. Cycling also helps them stay sane and grounded amidst the stresses of daily life.
“Setting achievable goals can help build your confidence…”
As avid cyclists, Lee and Helen have some advice for beginners who are just starting out. They recommend setting a tiny challenge for yourself and seeing where it takes you. Whether it's cycling to the nearest town or completing a short trail, setting achievable goals can help build your confidence and push you towards greater achievements.
“CyclePyrenees welcomes you with open arms and invites you to discover the beauty of the Pyrenees through cycling.”
When you stay at CyclePyrenees, Lee and Helen welcome you into their home and treat you like family. They freshly prepare breakfast and dinner each day and are happy to advise you on routes to explore. With comfortable rooms and a lovely garden to relax in, CyclePyrenees is the perfect place to rest and rejuvenate after a day's ride.
